Navigating the Chaos

Resources for Living Fully in These Times

What resources might help us advance solutions in the face of multiple threats to our shared future? What practices might help us do our work while sustaining joy?   I know for myself, I need more time with my grandson and less time on the computer. More time walking outside, digging in my garden and singing with others. But I also believe that I should turn towards the monumental suffering and loss, however challenging. As James Baldwin wrote, “Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced” This page offers strategies and resources for facing the threats while also taking care of ourselves and others. If you have suggestions for books, films or practices, please send your suggestion via the contact form and I may share it widely with others.   You may help someone (and me) by taking the time to share. Thank you for all you are doing or seeking to do, to heal, fight back, and give. Keep shining your light.

“There are moments you have when you enter a silence that is still and complete and peaceful. That is the source, the place where everything comes from. In that space, you know everything is connected, that there's an ecology of everything. In that place it is possible for people to have a change of heart, a change of thinking, a change in their way of being and living in the world.”

–Linda Hogan, Professor Emerita from the University of Colorado, Chickasaw poet, novelist and writer
